The term Rococo is thought to have derived from the French word "rocaille", which refers to the rock- and shell-work for the incrustation of grottos and fountains, and, by extension, a whimsical style of decoration associated with the reign of Louis XV.* The frivolity of each work in this category is overwhelmingly evident. You will also see similar palettes, the use of the S-curve or C-curve and sometime shy, sometimes overt flirtation amongst the characters. Rococo art is unique on its own and we encourage you to check it out. And as always, if you don't see the image you are looking for, contact us. We can still recreate it.
